Ms Prithima Kissoon read her first degree in law at the University of the West Indies where she distinguished herself. After successfully completing her first degree Ms. Kissoon read a post graduate degree in law with specialization in Company and Commercial law. Additional areas of focus in her LLM program included Caribbean Business and Public International law, intellectual property and corporate finance.

Ms. Kissoon was called to the bar in Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago in 2007 and commenced her practice in Guyana in the Chambers of the Attorney General. In 2009, Ms Kissoon was called to the bar in Barbados and in the same year she joined the chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions where she enjoyed considerable success.She subsequently returned to the chambers of the Attorney General where she was appointed Deputy Solicitor General in 2012.

Ms. Kissoon joined the team at Hughes, Fields and Stoby in 2018 as a Senior Associate where she specializes in the areas public law, commercial law, company law, intellectual property, oil and gas, mining law and civil litigation.

Since being admitted to the bar, Ms. Kissoon has appeared before the Caribbean Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal and extensively in the High Courts of Guyana.
