Ms. Ashley Henry graduated with her Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) with Distinction from the University of Guyana in 2016. Thereafter, she proceeded to the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago where she earned her Legal Education Certificate (LEC) in 2018 and graduated on the Principal’s Roll of Honour. Ms. Henry also received the following prizes upon graduating from the Hugh Wooding Law School:
- The Book Specialists Prize for the Second Outstanding Year II Student;
- The Guyana Government Prize for the Best Performance by a Student form Guyana;
- The Cameron & Shepherd Prize for the Best Performance in Civil Procedure and Practice I and Civil Procedure and Practice II by a Guyanese Student;
- The Association of Law Officers of Trinidad and Tobago Prize for Outstanding Performance in Ethics, Rights & Obligations of the Legal Profession; and
- The Justice Sandra Paul Alternative Dispute Resolution Prize for the student who best mastered the concepts and techniques of the ADR Process.
Ms. Henry is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crimes Prevention Professional having successfully completed the certification course from the Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crimes Institute.
Ms. Henry has supported the establishment and structuring of several companies in Guyana. She regularly advises and supports international, regional and local clients on various commercial transactions in Guyana including clients engaged in large cross border mergers and acquisitions and high value financial and loan transactions etc. Ms. Henry also has experience in both civil and criminal litigation.
Ms. Henry joined the team at Hughes Fields and Stoby as an Associate in July 2018.
