He then proceeded to the Hugh Wooding Law School where he graduated with his Legal Certificate of Education (LEC) in 2013 and was subsequently admitted to bar in Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr. Stuart Shepherd joined the team at Hughes, Field’s and Stoby as an Associate in December 2014. His practice areas have included the following:
- Civil Litigation: Court of Appeal, High Court and Magistrate’s Court matters such as: Wrongful Dismissal, Running Down Actions, Division of Property, Probate: Contentious, Possession, Claims, Plaints, Prescription, Land matters etc
- Criminal Litigation: Court of Appeal, High Court (Criminal Assizes) Magistrate’s Court: Murder, Manslaughter, Felonious Wounding, Robbery (under arms, with violence), Simple Larceny, Embezzlement, Narcotics, Assault, Abusive language, etc
- Advice/Opinions on Securities Law, Oil and Gas, Insurance, Taxation, Banking, Immigration, Environmental Law and other areas.

Mr Stuart Shepherd in addition to his legal practice is an active volunteer, with a passion for youth voluntarism and has served and still serves on the board of several not-for-profit organisations over the years. His other hobbies include, writing (poetry, novellas and novels) and travelling.
